About Me
Hi and Welcome to Curated Label. My name is Nikki Montenegro and I am the Owner and Creative Director at Curated Label. Home is Sydney, Australia but I was born in Manila, Philippines and yes of course, I can speak Tagalog fluently :) I've been blessed with an awesome partner in crime Ryan, smelly siblings Russell and Allyson, and a massive (I have over 30 cousins) but tight-knit family here in Sydney. I have a pom x chihuahua named Pompom the evil dog who's more human than canine. Evil cause he bit me 3 times on the face - but I love him to bits. I used to dress him up in a leopard costume in winter because he hates the cold.
SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:
* In 2012, I hiked the 4 day Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu and loved every minute of it. I also made friends with some llamas.
* I like to keep fit and enjoy going to the gym, running, kickboxing - anything to keep me active. Does dancing in the club count? Yes it does!
* I love Game of Thrones and horror movies and zombies! I fell asleep watching The Notebook.
* I can't say no to my mom's Filipino spaghetti, it's too good! I love food!
* I love my family, I value my friendships and I love hanging out with my cousins! We tight bro! :)
So now onto the jewellery! Jewellery is my thing. When I was a little kid in school, I remember my mom always made sure I was wearing a different pair of earrings every day...and I guess that habit just stuck with me until now. Curated Label pieces are sourced by me from around the globe and inspired by looks from my favourite fashion bloggers such as Aimee Song from Song of Style, Amanda Shadforth of Oracle Fox Blog, Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Vintage and Tina Phan of Phasionable.
MOST AWESOME MOMENT TO DATE:
Would have to be when New York Fashion Designer Patricia Chang, my favourite fashion designer who I had always admired and looked up to since my early jewellery days, wore Curated Label. This was an amazing feeling!
WHAT ELSE HAS HAPPENED:
* Won 'Best Presented Stall' Award at Kirribilli Fashion Markets - it was also my first market for Curated Label ever! Yay! (Sept 2014)
* Sponsored the Premonition Designs and Runaway the Label blogger party event in Sydney, Australia. (Aug 2014)
* My handmade jewellery (I used to have an Etsy shop named Nikki Montenegro) was stocked exclusively by Audrey Grace Boutique - a pop-up shop in New York and Mississippi. (Mar 2012)

I love jewellery and I really enjoy what I do. I don't have a studio or a design team, I run all facets of Curated Label myself out of my Sydney home with Ryan and Pompom as my support team (and my family and friends cheer me on too which is awesome. Thanks guys!).
